bitter rain has soaked the low country of south carolina for two days now and it looks like three more are to come.thank you Lord for the roof over my wife's head and for the food in our stomaches.those we work with are hiding under bridges and are crouched in doorways trying to maintain some degree of dryness.it hurts that i can't bring them all inside.:(

it is said that a man is known for the company he keeps.i pray that God will know me as the old man who loved and cared for those who couldnt care for themselves.fellowship with other Christians is nice but be warned, sitting in church every time the doors open does Not bring that much joy to Gods heart.random acts of kindness brings a smile to his heart.my wife and i have a monthly income of about $800 a month, if we can help feed 15-20 homeless Veterans a day,how many could you feed with just the money you give to the church for beautiful buildings and stained glass windows?

south carolina now has almost 4500 homeless Veterans.most are Viet Nam era,many are iraq. how sad that most of them are afraid of the government they served.many actually fear for thier lives!they wont use V.A. hospitals nor will they go to shelters.they wont go to "Stand Down Against Homelessness or Convey of hope.so they just hide in the woods,eat out of dumpsters,stay unbathed.many use drugs and booze as an escape.My heart hurts every day for my fellow soldiers who continue to suffer. |
